Wembury is a small village on the South West Coast of Devon, designated an area of outstanding beauty. Near to the river Yealm estuary, Wembury offers beautiful coastal paths with breathtaking views leading along the cliffs. A five minute drive will take you to the popular family beach, with surfing, rock rambling, horse riding, small marine centre and Old Mill cafe. Taking the cliff path to the left will bring you to the river Yealm, where a small ferry will take you over to the beautiful village of Newton Ferrers. Taking the path to your right will bring you to Heybrook Bay, all with outstanding views to the Mewstone, a small island. Wembury has a local pubwhich also provides good food and for that special occasion, historic Langdon Court Hotel, just one mile away, where in the early 1900's, Royal visitors King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra were guests. The village also has a park, including tennis, a Post Oficce, two churches and a well stocked village shop.

Pilgrims Rest Camping & Caravan Site is in an elevated position with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and sea. A bus stop is just outside the camp. The camp itself offers night lights, main water, toilets, showers, electric hookups etc. Located on the main Wembury road there is a good entrance. Just three miles from Plymstock a compact pedestrianised shopping precinct, with large free car park, Somerfields, Co-op, Chemists, Woolworths, Cafe and Take-Aways etc. On the borders Safeway and McDonalds.

Plymouth City surrounded in history is just six miles away with the famous Barbican where the first Pilgrim Fathers sailed on the Mayflower in 1620 to begin a new life in America. There are boat trips up the River Tamar and Yealm, not forgetting Brittany Ferries. Within easy reach of Dartmoor and many places of historical interest. Five miles from Marsh Mills Ski Centre, one of the largest toboggan runs in the U.K.
